Defining Patient Experience

Our International Patient Services Department works to ensure that all international patients and their accompanying family members or loved ones are in safe hands from the moment they arrive at the airport, with transfers and other accommodation and leisure requirements covered as well as medical and travel coordination in their own language and sensitive to their cultural expectations.

All these efforts ensure we can provide personal, responsive care at all times. Whether our guest from abroad is a day care patient, a long term treatment or a visitor, they can be confident that our sensitive, approachable and multilingual staff will treat them with respect and consideration, while offering advice and reassurance.

Creating a Positive International Patient Experience

Medica facilities have been designed with international patients in mind. All our guest know they are in expert hands, in a comfortable and caring, clean and safe environment. We speak the language of our patients and their families, sensitive to their individual needs and cultures.

We formed a working group from across Medica Medical Center  to define patient experience, with an emphasis on international patients and their families. This helped define 4 areas in relation to international patients:

INTERACTIONS:  International patients’ contacts with people, processes, policies, communications, actions, and the environment at Medica Medical Center  are designed to be positive, caring and encouraging.

CULTURE: The vision and values of people throughout Medica Medical Center  make them sensitive to the needs of foreign patients.

PERCEPTIONS: Perceptions vary based on individual experiences such as belief, values, cultural background, etc. Medica Medical Center is sensitive to this reality, and takes special care to put patients far from home at ease.

CONTINUUM OF CARE: Medica Medical Center employs trained professionals at our International Patient Services Department to coordinate care from pre-admission to follow-up in the patient’s home country as required.

Our International Patient Department is dedicated entirely to providing all our international patients with a comprehensive service covering every aspect of their trip, from their travel plans to and from Istanbul, through accommodation and leisure activities, and most importantly of course, coordinating their medical treatment or diagnosis with Medica‘s Centers of Excellence – all in their own language and sensitive to their own cultural values.

The International Patient Services Department is ready and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to assist all our international patients and their families with planning their medical travel. International Patient Specialists respond to every patient inquiry within 24 hours after evaluating the initial medical reports of the patients with the appropriate physicians and experts.
